The captain and crew, wi th the assistance of those on shore, managed to get safely landed, much exhausted. They have lost everything, as the vessel went to pieces so suddenly, barely giving them time to save their lives. The beach and rock* were crowded with people, who had to gaze on the poor fellows clinging to the bows of the vessel neatly one hour, quite poAerless to render them any assistance, although so near. The sea drove the vessel in on the rocks, which i? now strewed wiih portions of the wreck. Scarcely a vestige of the vessel remains wheie she struck. Captain Allen rendered valuable assistance, and has given instructions for the master and crew to get clothing and be properly provided for."
