WESTLANDS GOLDFIELD'S.
The steamers * Egmont ' and * Kennedy ' have arrived at Nelson from Hokitika, bringing respectively 12,OOOoz. and 6,750oz., matins; the largest amount ever brought to this port in one day. The result of the election for- the representation of Westland in the Gener»l Assembly is favour, of Mr W. S. Mooi house, who polled 40 yotes above his antagonist, Mr. Sha\y (Shaw, Harnett, arn^Co.) The Prince of Wale* Opera House has been opened in Hokitika, iu a highly successful manner. The proprietors are enjoying ciowded houses.— Nelson Examiner, March 20,
