POLICE COURT.— Saturay. [Before T. Beckham, Esq., R.M.]

DRUNKENNESS. Christopher Johnston, Robert Smith, Daniel Scott, and Henry Robinson were sentenced to pay a fine of 20s. or to undergo forty-eight hours' imprisonment for having been drunk. Mary Kearns and James Campbell received sentenced of seven days' additional imprisonment, being their third offence within three months. STOWAWAYS. George Webster and William Mitchell were charged by G. P. Thompson, master of the steamer ' Queen,' with having been stowaways between Napier and Tauranga. Both prisoners pleaded guilty, and were ordered to pay a tine of £5 or suffer two months' imprisonment. This concluded the business.
