Also, A Family Phaeton, with fiist-class Carriage Hoise, and Set of Silver-mounted Harness.

Nine of the aged rams arc imported from the flocks of Messrs. Sandy, TreiLain, Kirkham, and Eudkin ; the fleece of one recently shorn was 241b weight. Sheep from the above-named flocks have been the principal winners of prizes at all the lecent Koyal Agricultural .and Bath and West of England Cattle Shows. The superiority of Mr, Giigg's Hock has been well established in this piovince, having tvken two-thirds of all the prizes foi which, they have competed since 1859, since which year two of his impoited rams obtained first prizes. At the New Zealand Exhibition, held at Dunedin, the second prize was aw aided to three Ewe Hoggets shown by Mr. Grigg, and which afterwaids brought at auction £95, the first prize being awarded to one fully-matured English Ewe. The prize forJ_'_G-eaeral- fjiujerisrlt;;' cf - Leicester, Wool "^ w.is a!s'o~a\vardeci to Mr. Grigg. The weight Or"Vooi obtained from this Hock is higher than that of any other in this Piovince; miny of the Ram Hoggets sold lasb yoar averaged 15Ub. per ileece. REPOET OF NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITION. "The wool exhibited by Mr. Grig", of Otahuhu, not only exceeded oveiy other colonial exhibit of long wool, but showed a maiked superiority in all the essential featuies of Leicester wool over the samples sent for puiposes of comparison by the Biadford Wool Association : the Aucklaud wool was stronger, longer, moie glossy, and altogether a better handliug wool; and theio can be no doubt tliat wheie the same amount o£ care and attention is paid as must evidently have pi oduccd the satisfactory lesults appaleut in Mr. Giigsj's wool, the Auckland province can pioduce long wool of the best type, exceeding in its essential foatuies the best chaiacteristics of the original breed." — Southern Monthly Magcrine, August, ISCj. No expense has been spared by Mr. Giigg in obtainiug the best rams for crossing that could bo procured, and the sues fioin this Hock aio admirably adapted for crossing v\ith Merino ewes, they not having received any aitilicial feeding. The prices obtained at his annual sales of rams have been higher in each succeeding year ; on the last occasiou, in 1831, 35 sheep aveiaged neaily £20 each. I lcspectfully call the particular attention of breeders to the following fiom the London agents'a repoit of Messrs. Driver, Macleau, and Co.: — " With the rapid increase m the quantities of wool impoited fiom all our colouies except Southland, it is more than ever necessary that attention sliould be paid to the growth of New Zealand wool, so as to produce a sample that will not only suit the wants of this) market, bub comptte with the production of other colonies. We lequhe a long staple — a wool well got up, and fiee fiom giass seed. We would rather lose a little in quality than sacrifice length of staple. Good combing flocks from New Zealand arealnays well competed for in this market," whilst short-stapled wasty wool is much neglected. Catalogues will be prepared, and can be obtained at the Hayinaiketone week previous to sale. Terms . — Under £50, cash ; above that amount, approved bilk at four and six months, bearing interest at 10 per cent, per annum.
