Prices rccedtd from previous week from 10a. to 20s per head. At Ntwmarket, on Wednesday, the supply of cattle was limited iThor« was a good Attendance of buyers, and all offered was quitted Fat cattle rallied fully 20s per head from last week's rates. Few real calces wor* offered for s&lo. i Lambs were plentiful, but maintained their last week's prices, bringing from 1 8s. to 203 each There was a fair supply 1 of sheep, and all were quitted at fuHr.itei. We had a full market on Monday, at Newmarket, of some Teryprimo qualities of provincial fattened cattle from Wangarei, they were the best that lure boon in the market for some time ; nil to hand weic sold , prices are still lower than th«y liav* been, best qualities brought from 45s to COs the IOOIbs DAinr Cows,— "We had a fair show of dairy stock of better qualities than hate been offering for some itoek* past, prices are a shade higher, and the demand better ; all to hand were sold. The market was indifferently supplied with store cattle, and these were in low condition , all to hand wore sold , the demand coutinu><s good for this class of stock. Ye il calves were tn fair supply, and those of 'good quality brought satisfactory prices Sheep Market —"We had a full market of sheep, both of stores and fat ; n lot from Napier brought 24s each : fat, medium qualities shorn, 23s each, best qualities shorn, 23s to 30s each. The nay brought forward on Saturday last was in less quantity than usual, but prices weie without alteration Maize was dull of idle ; Auckland grown brought 4s (id. , Sydney maite, 4s. Oil to 6l the bushel. The horse market was very depressed ; there was a large number told, but prices obtained were low. At Otahuhu there was a full supply of cattle Pricei rallied perceptibly from previous week, and all at hand were sold freely There is an improved in<imry for dairy cattle and quiet young stock for the interior. Tho Merino enea brought 26s Cd. each, lambs given in At Newmarket, on Thursday, there was a fuller market of f»t cattle than fur some weeks Towards tho end of the sale prices lowered for inferior quality', but well-conditioned animals ' maintained their prlc* throughout Dairy cow* offered in good numbers, but there was a steady demand, and prices were higher than have lately ruled for this description ofst»ck, bflt iTiira*!! bringing from' £H td £17 «ach Not many store cattle offered, and those were of an inferior description. The sheep market was well filled. MESSRS. HUNfER AND CO.'S REPORT. We lure to report that the fat cattle nnrket has remained steady a* to prices for the last three weeks , there has been no further decline in price, and the rates for the next two 01 three months will be regulated by the shipments that may arrive from the otlier colonies The market Is fairly supplied with provincial-fattened cattle We had a good show on Monday list , all to hand were sold, At from 45s to 50s the lOOlbi , according to quality. Dairy Cons aie in fair demand, and bring rather improved prices on tlie rates ruling for the last few months , tho supply to hand was scarcely equal to the demand We had a tolerable maiket of storo stock, but rather inferior in quality , prices were not quite to good as they liavo been, but the inferior description of stock was the principal cause of the decline With wal calves the market waa well supplied : some ■of go»d quality brought £2 10s each , all to lnnd tteie sold lit food price?.
