/^i ENTLEMEN, — Having been requested to come vJT forward us a Candidate for your District, in the Provincial Council, by several electors of an important, but distant part of yonr distiict, I pledged myself to do so, and was accordingly proposed and seconded yesterday,, at Otahuhu. It is true that on Monday last a mooting was held at the Criteiion Hotel, Otahuliu, of which only a few hoius' notice nasijiven, and four candidates were chosen and declaied duly eleoted. But the extensive districts of Tauranga, Maiaitai, Hunua, Coromnndpl, the Thnines, and others had not, and could not have h.ul n voioe in the meeting They have hithcito been unrepresented in the I'rovincial Council , Tho gentlemen nominated yesterday, with tho exception of C'nptain Finzer and myself, repiesented ouly one portion of an immense and extensive district They represent only the agiicultural interest, an impoitiuit one; but conceiving that there are other, and equally important interests connected with Fiauklyn, and ha\iu£{ been requested to represent them I now place mysi If in your hands I apeak especially to the electors of the out districts above mentioned, and although 1 may have an opponent in the New Zealand Herald 1 care not for that provided 1 obtain yonr support.
