PUBLIC BATH.

To the Editor of th» Daily Southern Caois. Sir, — In reference to the letter .of Mr. Pallium, and to a paragraph appearing in the New- ZcaJander of yestenlny, I would respectfully nsk whether the writers consider a dirty little mud hole, tweuty feet long, fifteen feet broad, and four feet deep, a fit place for any one to bathe in. If no, I think they have a very poor idea of what a bath should be. In the first place, any one with delicate feelingi lias a very strong objection to stripping in a place whero he is open to the gaze of the people both inside the palings and out. Last manner I »*w at least thirty people in the above-mentioned "hole" at one time, who neceniarily mutt come out much more dirty than they went in, besides having their health injured and their ntom»chs polluted by taking accidental mouthful* of the brine ami mud. If a few persons would club together and make the present " hole," Buy, at least one hundred and twenty feet long and sixty feet broad, and put a few dressing boxes round it, I would most willingly come forward (and I have no doubt othets would also) to help in the expense of the undertaking. By so doing they would confer a benefit on the bathing community of this city. — Yours, &.0., Natator.
