REGISTRATION.

The subject of registration has been for a long time before the Council of the Northern Association, but it was deoided that no steps should bo taken in the matter until after the great petition on separation had been disposed of. No time was lost thereafter. At the last Council meeting a sub -committee was appointed to attend to this important matter, and we believe it will be the committee's care to look after the registration. In anticipation of the action of the committee, however, wo may state that forms of application will be gratuitously supplied by vi to all who require them. .No man entitled to a vote in the province ought to be unregistered, and we trust that nous will, at this important juncture, neglect to register. We hope gentlemen of influouce in the outdisti icts will itrengthen the hands of the asiociatiou in this matter. It ii not a question of local politick ; it is a question of the relative weight of the province of Auckland in the political scale, by which her title to a given number of members will bo determined in the next session of the Assembly. We have not yet obtained separation, and must fight our battle by every constitutional means that we can. We may add. iti conclusion, that we have had many queries from the country districts on this subject, and will take an tarly opportunity to forward forms of application, with the necessary instruotiom. The 31st of March is the last day for lodging applications.
