Maiy Bell, sworn, said : I am a single woman, and encaged with Mis Jackman on a Monday and remained till the Friday fortnight following. I gave eight days' warning after being 1 in her service a week and four da}s. I was to receive 10s. a week, and have been paid none. V Cross-examined: 1 gave notice to Mis. Jackman. She asked me to stop till the Monday following the day I left I did not Bay I would do bo. Mr. Jackman wns ill. He keeps a boarding house Ilannah Jackman, swoin, said : Plaintiff was with mo a foi tnight and four days. She wai to give me a week's notice. She gave notice on Tlmisday to leave the following Monday. I told her four days' was not a sufficient notice and asked her to lemain till Monday week. She agieed to do so. She left on the Fiiday, eight dnys aftei giving notic, quite unexpectedly. I keep a large boaiding house, and was put to much inconvenience. Jamesßypt), sworn, said: Iboaidwith Mis. Jackman, and was present when plaintiff went. The serv.uit tefuicd to stop any longer and said though she had agiced to stop she could not do so. The Magistrate s>aid plaintiff must lose a week's wages, and lecover only 17^. instead of 275.
