WAIROA. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) October 14.

My lengthened Bilcnoo is at length broken in an unpleasant foira. lam sorry to have to announce that a most brutal murder was committed yesterday, about mid-day, by a, party p£ Wolpd-tfiirsty rebels, The faqta

are these: — Mr. Haiulin, who lived near Ring's redoubt came to Wahoa with his bullock dray, to take away a load of- domestio utensils, &0., for Mr. T. L. Wallis. He was acoompaniod by Mr. Wallia' son, a boy not quite ten years of age, and as' they werb returning with their load from Wairoa towaids Papakurn, they were both shot close to Mr. Henderson's. Mr. HRtnliu must have been killed on the spot, bub yonng Wallis still survives, although I umloistand his recovery is hopeless, tho ball having entered at tho lower pait of the jaw and come out near the temple. Thoio is no doubt the murdering wretches had watched the toam, and seeing that it was only accompanied by an old man and a boy, both unarmed, llioy laid in ambush and accomplished their diabolicnl act. The murder waß discovered by Mr. Gnlding, who came down tho road in search of cattle. Mr. Hamlin'a body was conveyed to Thing's rodoubt, and poor young Wallis was taken to the same place for medical treatment.
