GUARANTEE DEPARTMENT. The Europeau Assurance Society is empowered by special Act of Parliament to guarantee the fidelity of persons holding Government and other situations of trust. The premium charged on first-class Guarantees for Government and Bank officials is now reduced to 15s. per cent. A future allowance of Is. per cent, per annum will be made until tho premium is reduced to 10s. per cent. By combination of life assurances with fidelity guarantee, a further very material reduction may be effected.
