GENTLEMEN,— I beg lo offei myself as a candidate for the office of Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, now vacant by the lesignation of John Williamson, Esq. li. doing so thus eaily, I wish to avoid the moie fotinal process of waiting for a lequiftition, being awaic that lcquisitions on auch occasions, are mmply expiessions of party feeling, which in my case I wish to avoid Belonging to no party in the Province, I am undor no peisonal engagement to eeive auy ; and I do not now wish to lay myself under any party obligations.
