The Newmarket sale of live stock by Messrs Cheeseman, Hunter, and Co., on Tuesday last, the 3rd instant, was rather thinly attended with buyers, but there was a good supply of both Btore and fat cattle and sheep, which went to the hammer at the usual rates. Yearling heifers and stems sold at from £1 lGs. to £4 ; eighteen months old ditto at from £i 10s. to £5 7s. 6d,; full grown cattle at £7 10s ; and working bullocks at £13 15s. each ; veal calves fetched 225. to 435. Cd ; fat bullocks £12 2s. 6d. to £15 ; and fat cows, £10 ss. to £13 15s. each ; mutton, of which there was a full market, sold well, ranging from 19». to 275.; lambs, 9s. to 15s. 3d.; and pigs, at 305., 355. each. Messrs. Cheesman, Hunter, and Co., report that at their sale of cattle at Papakura, on Wednesday, the attendance of buyers was larger than on any former occasion, the competition was brisker, and pi ices were in excess of those realized at Newmarket. The following prices are quoted • — Large grown bullocks, neaily beef, £11 7s. 6d. each; another lot, not so good, £9 2s. 6d.; store cows, £7 17s. 6d. to £8 165.; young cattle, 18 months, £5 12s. 6d. to £7 ; yearlings, £3 17s. 6d.
