LONDON WOOL REPORT. April, 1861.

Since the close of our last sales the few contracts made have been chiefly for export, the qualities taken being for the most part Oape, which, at the earlier portion of the March sales, were much depressed, and a profit of Id. to l£d. Was readily obtained on this descnption by the dealers. The few first hand parcels of Port Phillip combing had changed hands, and m the Noith, at about last sales lates, to a shade in favour of buyers, a general feeling existing, that rates cannot be higher ; but, on the other hand, in favour of the buyer is the large arrivals expected, which, may reach 100,000 bales ; if so, it will be the largest number *hat has ever arrived in. time for one series. The arrivals to date are 55,000 bales, and as the next sales Will not commence till 9th or 16th May, the anticipated import may be fauly looked for. The easier state of the money market, coupled with a rather better feeling in the North, may assist materially our market, but as the prospects for harvest influence to a great extent our dealers, it is difficult to hazard an opinion as to the probable range of prices. It may be fairly assumed that rates will be a shade in favour of buyers, particularly in stapled descriptions, and it will be giatifying if so large a quantity can find buyeis at a reduction of Id. to l^d per lb.
