HTrul or a Solicitor.— The Trial of Mr. Boorman, aNapier Solicitor on a charge of stealing Bank notes, from the residence of Mr. Reynolds, his client, is altogether a very singular one and has resulted in the discharge of the jury, nine were for acquittal and three for a verdict of guilty. The i risoner wra accordingly bound over himself in £50 and two sureties in £25 each, to appear at the next sittings of the Court. The defence set up was that the prisoner did not take the Notes with the intention of stealing them, but for the purpose of conveying to the prosecutor a lesson on the impropriety of carelessly leaving money about and that he meant to restore them. It was a very dangerous mode of imparting truth Mr. as Boorman has already found to his cost.
