A power of attorney has been sent to Mr. Hughes, bearing date 9th August, 1859. It appears that parties in Melbourne are either manufacturing Holloway's Pills nnd Ointment, or importing imitations of the same from the United States ; such parties, when discovered, will be dealt with according to law, in order to protect the public. The Genuine Ointment and Pills have engraved on the British Government Stamp, the yvotdt, "Holloway's Pilb and Ointment, London," and if the little Books of directions wrapped round the medicines be held up to the light, the same words will be discovered woven in the water-mark of the paper. None are genuine without these marks, and without the Government Stamp. The public of Australasia is respectfully invited to join with the Proprietor of these Medicines in his endeavour to trace out those who are practising this fraud upon them, and to give information of the same to Mr. John Hughes.
