Tuesday's Cattle Sale was as usual well supplied with Cattle of all kinds, moat of which changed owners at fair prices. Beef was plentiful, and sold at about former rates. A few head, however, not quite fat enough, were quitted at prices a shade lower than those obtained last week. Averaged sized bullocks and Cows brought from £10 7/6 to £13 5/0 each. Store Cattle are still low; but the supply is also small. Heifers of good quality, sold well, bringing from £9 2/6 to £11 12/6 each. Dairy Cows also brought good prices, sellingfrom £9 to £16 each. Sheep brought from 17s. each", and Lambs sold in lots from Bs. to 14/9. 2 draught horses brought £49 and £51 each. A draught Mare £41, and a riding Mare £17 12/6. The second wool sale for this season, held by MrAlfred Buckland, took place at the Bazaar Sale Rooms, on Monday last, it was numerously attended by both buyers and growers. 288 bales and some bags were catalogued, the whole of which were sold, and for the large lots offered there was considerable competition. Washed Merino realized from 17£i to 19Jd. Half' bred from 16jd. to 18£d. Leicester from 14±d. to 15d. per ft. Wools in grease, sold from 9Jd. to llf d., but were only in small parcels. Lock and pieces, bags and broken bales from 7£d. to lOd. The prices realized gave genera^ satisfaction, and for the washed wools was from one to three half-pence per Ib above the prices obtained for similar wools in the corresponding ■ale of last season.
Mr. Alfred Buckland reports the Sales held at the Bazaar Sale Yards to be acquiring increased •stability. Horse Stock being regularly brought forward and disposed of at the auction unreservedly, has given confidence to both buyers and sellers, and a greater regularity in the prices is obtained. Mr. Alfred Buckland reports that the sale held at "his yard, Newmarket, on 'I hursday, was fairly attended by buyers. Fat cattle were in customary supply, but met with rather a dull sale : 34 head were driven in, and of those 24 were sold, but at a reduction of five shillings per lOOlbs. on the average of the past month. Forty head of store cattle met with a steady sale, but at a reduction on previously obtained prices. Fat sheep were in abundant supply, much in excess of the demand; prices consequently were low, and several pens were withdrawn ; a portion of those by the last arrival of the "White Swan" sold at 15s. each: 67 fat lambs sold at late rates, realizing from 9s. 6d. to 16s. 6d. each. The store Bheep advertised, .sold as follows :—: — lambs 7s. 9d., ewe hogs 14. 6d., wether hogs 11s., and half-bred Leicester ewes from 12s. to 17s. each. Pigs are scarce in the market; for those of small size and in fair condition satisfactory prices are obtained.
