PROSPECTUS Of Education in connexion with the Church of England.
mHE TRUSTEES of St. John's- College, Tamaki, X and of the Church of England Grammar School, Parnell, appointed by act of the General Synod, held last March, in Wellington, hereby notify to the public that these two Institutions will be opened for the Education of Youth in the month of January, 1860. The Course of Instruction and Terms will be as follows : I. GRAMMAR SCHOOL, PARNELL. Head Master, Rev. John Kinder, M. A., Trinity College, Cambridge. ' Course op Instruction. 1. Religious Instruction. 2. Classics — Latin and Greek. 3. Mathematics— Arithmetic, Euclid, & Algebra 4. Miscellaneous— Writing, Drawing, Geography, History, and English Literature. 5. Modern Languages— French & German (extra) Terms. Tuition— Day Scholars or Boarders, £12 #* annum. Board— With the Head Master, £45 per annum. Boys may also be boarded at a Licensed Board-ing-house in Parnell. Terms, £35 per annum.
11. ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE, TAMAKI. Principal, Rev. Samuel Blaoxbuen, M. A, Age of entrance, 15 years or upwards. The Course of Instruction and Terms will be specified on the arrival of the Principal, who is expected daily from England. There are several Scholarships attached to this College, of considerable annual value, of which it is proposed to .reserve some for Boys educated in the Grammar School, Parnell, the others will be open to general competition. In a few years hence there will be many more Scholarships available, as the College rental will then be considerably increased.
