The Eastfield, John Copland, Captain, cleared from St. Kathrine's Dock, London, on the 6th August last, and received her passengers at Gravesend. Sailed from the Downs on the 10th, at 7 a.m. Experienced hot weather with light variable w'nds. On the 10th August, sighted Palma, one of the Canary Isles, which was seen for two days. Had only two days of N.E. trade wind, occasioning delay in progress. Crossed the line in longitude 23 west, at midnight, on 25th September. Had thence light S.E. trades down to the paralel of the Cape of Good Hope, in latitude 40 south. From thence ran easting down from latitude 45 to 50 south. Sighted southern point of Tasmania, at 5 a.m.., on 29th November, and passed between the Rubrick Rock and the mainland. Sighted the Three Kings, off Cape Maria Van Diemen, Bth December. From thence had southerly winds up to Tiritiri. On the 12th. December, at s'lo. p.m., anchored in Auckland harbour, after a pleasant and agreeable passage of 123 days, from the Downs. The Eastfield brings a number of passengers, namely, IH chief cabin, 12± second cabin, and 8£ steerage ; and 3 deaths on board—James Barnes, second cabin, 24th August, Minian Ridling (infant). 29th September, and Mrs. Susan Edmonstone, 4th October.
