PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By John Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland. UNDER and in pursuance of the powers, vested in me in that behalf by the Regvlations issued on the 14th day of May, in the year 1856, by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, for the disposal of the Waste Lands of the Crown within the Province of Auckland, in the said Colony, I hereby notify for general information, that all that portion of land known is the "Ruarangi" Block, in the. District of Wangarei, containing 19,000 acres, which is not set apart as Town, Suburban, or Rural Lands, or proclaimed as Credit Land, will be open for sale as Country Lands, at 10s. an acre, subject to the provisions in that behalf contained in the ; first-fr»entioned Regulations, on arid ~after Monday, the twenty-first day of December next. Given under my hand at Auckland, in the said Province, the eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven. J. Williamson, Superintendent.
THEATRE ROYAL, AUCKLAND.
I^HIS Theatre will open for the Season early in - November, under the direction of Messieurs T. S. Bell air and William Hill, from the theatres of London and Edinburgh, Melbourne, and Sydney. Their high ambition will be to exhibit not "the mere outward show" of dramatic illustration, but the embodiment of the intellectuality of authors, whom "time will for ever honour." A talented company has been arranged, whose aim will be to blend instruction with amusement, "to hold as 'twere the mirror up to Nature, — to shew Virtue her own feature, — Scorn her own image, — and the very age and body of the Time its form and pressure." To the Legitimate Deama will be added Operatic and Melo-Dkamatic Spectacles, and pieces of a lighter cast, that have won public applause. Further particulars will be duly announced. Oct. 6th, 1857.

Terms : — for the Season, Single Mares, £5 ss.j two or>more; £4 10s. each. To parties having five or more Mares, a further reduction will be made. Mares stinted by " CUMBERLAND" last season and not proving with foal, will have service this season at £2 12s. 6d. Parties clubbing together lo gain the reduction will be charged £5 ss. for each Mare, in every case. All payments to be made on or before 20th day of January, 1858. B. Newell, High-street. Punch is a jet black horse rising 5 years old, stands 16 hands high, he has proved himself a sure foal getter, his stock can be seen on the farm, and are not surpassed by any in the Province. Sire of Punch the well known imported horse "Norfolk Hero," out of an Auckland Prize Mare. Terms, £3 ss. for each mare, to parties giving more than two mares a reduction will be allowed.
