Mr. W. Hunter Toports the Cattle and Sheop Market as bcin^ much the same as the past tew weeks. At the sale held by him, on Tuesday last, theie was a fair quantity of both fat and store stock and a good attendance of buyers. Fat cattle changed hands at remunerative rates, the piices obtained shewing an increase upon those of the previous sales. A lot of eight lat cows averaged £S 10s. 6d. ; another lot of live bullocks averaged £10 8s. — the 2 highest sold lor £12 os. and £11 ss. each. Store stock was not brought forward in such quantities as of late weeks. A lot of young steers sold for £i 7s 6d. each ; a few heifers averaged £4 I ">s. Good dairy cows are still wanted, they were sold from £15 os. to £12. The Cattle sale held at Otahuhu by Mr. Hunter, on Wednesday last, was well supplied with stock, which all sold for fair price 3. Stoic stock and dairy cows bringing an advance upon the Newmarket prices of Tuesday last. A lot of young heifeis and steers sold from £5 10s. to £4 7s. 6cV, another lot of six brought from £5 ss. to £3 7s. 6d. ; dairy cows sold for £16, £14 10s. and £14 17s. 6d. At the Newmarket Sale held by Mr. Alfred Buckland, on Tuesday last, there was a good supply of fat, and a larger than usual quantity of store stock. The attendance was somewhat limited, but the bidding was brisk, and the prices lealized weie fully equal to late rates. Cows in milk, or near cahing, command hgh | prices. The market was barely supplied with^ sheep, for which an advance on previous rates was obtained.
