NATIONAL MONUMENT TO Sir William Wallace, ON ABBEY CRAIG, NEAR STIRLING. NOTICE. A COMMUNICATION having been received -t*- from the Central Committee, at Stirling, a numerous meeting of the Scotchmen of this City was held at the Victoria Hotel, on Friday evening, 13th in.stant, when resolutions were agreed to concurring in the steps which are being taken at home for raising a Monument to Sir William Wallace. A Local Committee, consisting of William Hay, Esq., as Chairman, Mr. George Fraser, Secretary, and Alexander Kennedy, Esq., Treasurer, with thirty-two others, was appointed for the purpose of raising funds in aid of the movement. In submitting to the inhabitants of this Province the following extract from the Prospectus of the Central Committee, the Local Committee beg to intimate that Subscription Lists are now open at the Office of the Union Bank of Australia, Princes-street, and at Mr. Geo. T Chapman's, Bookseller, Queen-street, and that others now in course of being prepared will be advertised in a few days. Extract from the Prospectus of the Wallace Monument. "The Committee are most desirous that the proposed Monument should be reared by the united contributions not only of natives of Scotland at home and abroad, but of the lovers of patriotism in every part of the world. Subscriptions ot the smallest amount will be received, and the names of the donors preserved in the archh ea of the Monument. By order of the Committee, George Fraser, Auckland, March 31, 1857.

CONNELL and RIDINGS, Auctioneers and Estate Agents, at their Mart, in Queen- street, in the City of Auckland, in New Zealand, aforesaid, in or about the month of JUNE next, on a day to be named in a future advertisement. The Estates above referred to, — Ist. — A Cottage and one Acre of Land, being Allotment five of Section thirteen, in the Village of Onehunga, in the Province of Auckland, in the occupation of — . Allen. 2nd. — A Cottage and Acre of Land, being Allotment two of Section seventeen, of the Village of Onehunga, aforesaid. 3rd. — Part of Allotment thirteen of Section four, of the City of Auckland, let to William Coleman for fourteen years from first of January, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four, at seventytwo pounds per annum, payable quarteily. 4th. — Allotment fifty-one of Section twentynine, of the City of Auckland, aforesaid ; having a frontage to Grey-street of one hundred links, and a depth of three hundred and sixty-five links. sth. — A Dwelling-house and premises in Queen- j street, Auckland, lcasel for a term of seven years, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and fifty one, at the yearly rent of fifty two pounds, being part of Allotmeut two of section beventecn uf the City of Auckland. Also : — All that piece or parcel of Land part of Allotment number one of section thirty seven of the town of Auckland, bounded on the north cast by section thirty six, eighty four links, on the south by a reserved road sixty links, and on the West by Queen-street sixty links, conveyed by Deed dated the twentieth November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty five by William Nicholls in consideratrn of fifty pounds. And also all that piece or parcel of Land being Lot number fifteen of subdivision of Allotment twenty one of Section twenty four in the Town of Auckland, bounded on the north west by Allotments numbers one and two of same section fifty seven feet ten inches, on the east by a Street twenty nine feet four inches, and on the south by Lot fourteen of same subdivision fifty feet.
