"VTOTICE is hereby given that the Special Meet- ^ ing of Magistrates, held this day, at the Resident Magistrate's Court, at Auckland, for the purpoie of foiming the "Militia List" for the ensuing year, is adjourned to Friday, the 14th day uf April eext, at 12 o'clock, noon. Inspector of Schools.

WANTED, by the Board of Education for the ' ' Province of Auckland, constituted under the Education Act, lately enacted by the Provincial Council, an Inspector of common Schools

for the Province, Salary £300 per annum. Persons applying for the office must have their testimonials &cut in before the 80th of June, 1857, addressed to Archibald Clark, Esq., Chairman of the Board of Education, Shortland-street, Aucklaud. As the work of inspection will not at present occupy one half of the year, the Inspector will also be required to act as secretary to the Board of Education, and in that capacity to do what lies in his power to extend Education in the Province, and to raise the standard of it in the common Schools He will also be required to examine Teachers before the Board for certificates of merit, and he is therefore requested to specify particularly the subjects in which he would consider himself competent to conduct an examination. Auckland, 26th March, 1557.

THE Undersigned begs to inform his Friends and the Public that he has taken the Crown Hotel Stables, where he intends carrying on the business of BREAKING in HORSES for Ladies and Gentlemen, riding, or for any other purpose on the lowest terms. Donald Taylor. April 3, 1857.
