* Ist RACE. For Skiffs, not exceeding 16 feet 6 inches keel, pulling 2 oars. 2nd RACE. For 2nd class Sailing Skiffs, not exceeding 15 feet length, and 6 inches depth of keel. 3rd RACE. For Whale Boats, pulling 5 oars. 4th RACE. For 2nd class Sailing Boats, not exceeding 15 feet keel. sth RACE. For Boats of any length, pulling 2 oars. 6th RACE. For Ist class Sailing Boats of any dimensions. 7th RACE. For Coasters, not exceeding 20 tons. Bth RACE. For Boats, not exceeding 15 feet, pulling 2 oars. 9th RACE. For Ist class Sailing Skiffs, keel not exceeding 6 inches in depth. 10th RACE. For Dingies, pulling a pair of skulls. 11th RACE. For Canoes. 12th RACE. The Duck Hunt.
RULES. 1. That no boat be allowed to enter, unless the owner be a subscriber to the amount of £1. 2. All objections to boats to be made before starting, and all disputes to be referred to the Committee. 3. All decisions of the Umpire shall be final. 4. All boats to be entered in colors and with a name, and to carry colors they cuter with at the masthead, or peak of sailing boats, and at bows of rowing boats. 5. 3 entries or no race. 6. No boat considered entered till the entrance moneyis paid. 7. The entrance money for Ist class sailing boats £1 10 2nd " " " 10 Ist " " skiffs 1 0 2nd " " " 10 "Whale Boats 1 10 Boats of any length 1 0 " not exceeding 15ft. keel 1 0 Skiffs pulling two oars .... 1 0 Dingies 10 8. The Gun will fire and the flag be hoisted to masthead of Flagship as a signal to prepare for starting. 9. All prizes shall be awarded on the 10th January, 1857. 10. All boats on port tack to give way to boats on starboard tack. 11. Neither Ist or 2nd class sailing boats to sail in Skiff race.12."
