"VTOTICE is hereby given that a Special Meet- -*^ ing of the Justices of the Peace, residing within the following districts, namely "the City of Auckland/ "the Suburbs of Auckland," " the Pensioners Settlements," " the Northern Division," and " the Southern Division, " will be holden at the Police Office, Auckland, on Tuesday the 18th day of July next, at ten o'clock, a m , for the purpose of hearing and determining all objections to the "List and Roll" of Claims to the right of voting, within the districts aforesaid, and of forming the Roll for the ensuing year, of Persons qualified to vote under the provisions of the New .Zealand Constitution Act. rPENDERS will be received for the supply of 90 -«- Totara or Tea-tree piles, from 25 to 35 feet long, and not less than 1-0 inches diameter in the middle.; 60 pieces of Kauri -timber, 18-feetlong, 5 x"7 ; 200 pieces of Kauri timber, 18 feet long, 5x 7 ; 30 Totara plahks 2\ inches thick, 14rfeet long, 10 inclies broad; 30 Totara 4 planks, 2\ inches thick, 14 feet long, 14 inches broad. The Kauri must be free from sap, and the rest of the timber free from all defects, and the whole tobe delivered at 'th6 Queen-street Wharf, to the satisfaction of. the Engineer. HALSTEAD, Veterinary Surgeon, having his .instruments and a good supply of medicines on board the ' Galway Ark/ begs leave to acquaint the public of Auckland that he will be most happy to afford any assistance in'his professional art. As Mr. Halstead's long and succcessful practice in New South Wales h well known to many gentlemen "in New Zealand, he considers comment unnecessary. The best assurance of -ability is that all diseases incidental to the Horse will be undertaken upon the principle, — no cure no pay. All horses castrated will be insured at 10 per<eent. to any amount, if required. Any orders left at the Exchange 'Hotel' will be attended to without delay. Auckland, 19th June, 1854.

iQTRAYED from the paddock «f Mr. Osborne, at Newmarket, a Brown Coloured COW, approaching to a dark .red, without .any white marks, and with moderate sized horns. She is branded -C B on >the milking side. About two years since, the same cow was found to have been driven, or to have strayed, about two miles beyond Otahuhu. Whoever will deliver her at Mr. Whisker's, 'Cabbage Tree Swamp Road, or at the paddock of Mr. Osborne (where she will be sent for) will receive the above reward.
