OF MAHURANGI,

[About Twenty-Four Miles from Auckland ;] ITS fertile and majestically timbered Land, its general splendid Agricultural and Grazing Capabilities ; its fine Harbour ; its sweetly meandering River; its rich possession of Nature's scenic Grandeur ; its numerous respectable Settlers ; and indeed its almost innumerable recommendations have become of late so publicly known that MR. HANSARD believes himself fortunate in having been selected as the agent to bring into the market a Township worthy in extent and liberality, and in situation, to take its position (as it will undoubtedly do) as one of the most flourishing Towns of the Province of Auckland. This Township is situated at the head of the river Mahurangi, at the spot originally selected by the then Surveyor-General for>the township of that name. It has now been yarned "WARKWORT H." As to the position : it is well sheltered by neighbouring hills, situated on a gentle slope towards the river, thereby affording the great desideratum of easy drainage. Intersecting it, and forming its main streets, will run the Great North Road from Matakana, Orewa, Wangarei, the Bay of Islands, &c, (for which £1000 has been voted by the Provincial Council) ; and the Road to the splendid district of Kaipara, which will almost immediately become available under the New Land Regulations ; these roads joining, close to the town, the main road to Auckland. Bold water affords splendid facility for Wharfage, for which provision has been made by public Reserve for one Wharf, 250 ft. by 200 ft. j another 150 ft by 100 ft .; and a third 160 ft. by 150 ft j besides this public accommodation eight of the Allotments have direct frontage on the River, alongside which a vessel of 40 tons can now receive and discharge cargo. Liberal free reserves have also been made for sites of places of worship, schools, burial ground, &c, &c. ; The communication with Auckland is even now easy and frequent ; the Steamer now projected will bring it within a three hours run of the capital, and may run alongside of all three of the wharfs. The Lots, (quarter acre) will be sold at prices varying from Six to Fifteen Pounds each. ; Immediate application by those who desire good selections should be made. Plan on view. Albert Wm. Hansard, Estate Agent, Auckland. The lots of the Town of Mahurangi lay for several months unbought at the upset price of £5 j within three months after their purchase they have realized £25. If this beneficial rule applied to Mahurangi, it will undoubtedly more strongly do so to Warkworth.

Auckland Harbour Works.

rpENDERS will be received until noon, of ■*- Tuesday, 6th June, for the supply of 90 Totara or Tea-tree piles, from 25 to 35 feet long, and not less than 10 inches diameter in the middle ; 60 pieces of Kauri timber, 18 feet long, 5x7; 200 pieces of Kauri timber, 18 feet long, 5x7; 30 Totara planks 2.J inches thick, 14 feet long, 10 inches broad; 30 Totara planks, 2-| inches thick, 14 feet long, 14 inches broad. The Kauri must be free from sap, and the rest of the timber free from all defects, and the -whole to be delivered at the Queen-street Wharf, to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
