A hew and^fuly yacht-like addition to our long list of valuable coasters arrived in port from the Bay of Islands, on "Wednesday morning. The new-comer is called the Osprey. She is of 50 tons burthen ;is intended for the Auckland and Bay of Islands trade ; and is the property of the Messrs. Williams brothers, for whom she was designed by Mr. Brown the builder of the Herald. Low and aloft, the Osprey is a beautiful specimen of naval architecture. She overhauled both the Herald and Frances Partridge in her passage up the gulf, giving them the go-by in the thorough clipper style. The brig Yarrow, Captain Kemp, came into harbour on Tuesday, after a fair passage of fourteen days from Melbourne. The Yarrow is a fine, new, roomy brig, built at Prince Edwards Island, and has only made one passage to Liverpool and from thence to the Colonies. She is, Aye understand to be added to the rapidly increasing tonnage list of the port of Auckland, having been purchased at Melboiu-ne for Captain Salmon. The American barque Frances Partridge, Captain Broughton, arrived from Melbourne on Wednesday morning. She sailed on the 10th inst., and experienced very tempestuous weather during the first part of her passage, and a succession of calms during the latter portion of it. She has come to Auckland to load a cargo of kauri gum for the. United States.
