The Elections.

The state of the poll for the Pensioner settlements has not yefc been officially declared. But according to the returns fur-

rusted from the several polling places, the election has been in favour of Messrs. Lewis, Brennan, Powditch, and Williamson. Messrs. Clarke and Busby have been returned, -without opposition, as members of the Provincial Council for the 1 Bay of Islands. And Mr. Carleton has likewise been elected member of the' Representative Assembly for the same district.
