AT a Public Meeting held in the Catholic School Room, Auckland, on Monday, the 9th day of July, ta take into consideration the necessary measures for erecting a Teatotal Hall. • The Rev. Father Petit Jean ia the chair. It was unanimously resolved— I. — That it is desirable that the members of St. Patrick's Total Abstinence Society should have a Hall sufficiently large to enable them to meet together, and advocate the moral principles which they have espoused. II. — That from the increasing number of Children the present School Room is inadequate, and that the Hall could bedevoted to educational purposes duringthe day. 111. — That it is the unanimous opinion of this meeting, that such a Hallwould tend not only to the improvement of themoral and intellectual condition of therising generation, but would be replete with benefit to the community at large,, from the purposes to which it is iutended to be devoted during the evening. IV. — That the following Gentlemen beappointed a Committee to open a subscription list, and to adopt the necessary measures for erecting St. Patrick's Hall. Mr. H. Coolahan, Mr. P. Whelan. „ W.
