ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the Southern Cross. Sir, — Will you assist me with your bright light that is now spreading its influenco through this hemisphere, to look for that responsible body the Committee of the Agricultural Society. The Agriculturists have long and anxiously been expecting a programme of the premiums to be given, that they might direct their attention to the cultivation of any particular crop. If they can bo found, they should bo remindod that spring is fast approaching, and if immediate steps are not taken, premiums will be given by chance, and fair competition entirely excluded. I hayo heard nothing of them since their last agricultural dinner. I hope we shall find thorn in good health and activity. I am, Sir, &c, Peter Ploughman. AueMand, August 16, 1843.
