Queen-street, near the Court House, June 2nd, 1843. ;£ To ike Editor of the Southern Cross. '•W — * observed a letter in your paper of the 27th IO May last, signed David G. Smale, containing a .great deal about Gentlemen and Gentlemanly Conduct, with some few silly calculations and false assertions, for -whoever must have written it for' him must have been confoundedly ignorant of all the true ciicamatancea of the case. The simple facts are these, the prize won on the 5th January was £h, four of the Crew of the "Nautilus" entered her within 29., which was paid by Mr. Smale, now the prize (£5) shared by six persons would allow each 16s, 8d., consequently the four (Messrs.
