Hutt’s Prize-Giving Day There was a large attendance of members and friends at tlie Hutt club s prizegiving day on Saturday. A record number of 80'players took part in a Canadian mixed foursome bogey, which was won by Miss Roberts and R. W. T. Roberts, who finished 6 up. Next came Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Ewen, 3 up; Mrs. Ashe and J. y. Rudman, 3 up. The president of the club, Mr. C. A. Burgess, presided, and the trophies were presented by Mrs. R. D. T. Lewis, captain of the Hutt Ladies Golt Club. Mr. Burgess congratulated the committee for reintroducing the club cliampionshlp this season, and also congratuated tlie ground staff and those members responsible for the excellent condition of the greens and fairways. Competitions played during the weekend resulted:—Fourbnll bestball bogey: J. A. Jacques and H- W. I'. Gillian, 8 up; RMcDonald and J- V. Rudman, 7 up; CTustin and G. Tustin, 6 up. btableford: ! • B. Thompson, 36 points on count back from G. D. Campbell: H. H. Hartnell, 00. Shandon Club.— Championship finals, over 36 holes, senior, D. J. Oliver beat J. H. Duncalf. 3 and 2; intermediate, D. Robertson beat A. G. Elliott, 13 and 11; junior J. Noble beat J. K. Gridin, 2 up. Fergie Cup, final: E. S. McQueen beat P. J. D. Johnson, 2 and I. Griffin Cup, final; K. Smith beat U. P. Calclnai, 2 and 1. Ellis Cup final: N. D. Henderson beat I. Elsmore at the thirty-seventh. Ranlsh Cup, lilial: D. G'. Stark beat K. Underwood, 2 and 1. Bogey: I’. J. Burke, 1 up; U. P. Bay Club.—There was a large attendance ot members at the closing day yesterday, when trophies won during the season were presented bv the president, of the club, Mr. A. J. Lindsay. Trophies were presented as follows:—Gray Cup, W. Money; Gray Rose Bowl, Mrs. Talbot: women's eclectic. Mrs. Hooper; men’s eclectic, A. M. Brumley. The following competitions were decided:—Hidden holes: Mrs. Neilson and A. M. Bramley; Canadian foursome. Miss V. Owen and J. McClugE, Wclllngton Club.—Two more gomes in the club’s senior eliumpionsltip competition were ployed on Saturday over «b holes, and both were close and exciting. G. Longuet covered the course in 73 and 75 to beat W. G. Horne by the narrowest possible margin. E. W. Thurgood and O. K. Tennent also had a hard tussle, which eventually saw Thurgood emerge victorious by 3 and 2. , Manor Park Club.—Medal: J. Kllgour, 68 net; D. Hood, 09: L. Dixon, 69. lour; ball bogey: W. Anderson and S. Lusty, o up, on count back from P. Payne and G. Parker and W. Dyer and W. McNamara. Junior two-lit'e competition: J. Stanley and W. Elwlek beat W. Anderson and K. Whitcombe. , , Manor Park Ladies’ Club.—Junior championship, final, over .36 holes: Mrs. Bobertson beat Miss McGrath. 4 and 2. I' lag competition: Mrs. Rudolph, who hnished on the nineteenth green. Stablefora: Miss Cameron, 33 points. Shandon Ladles’ Club. I‘orbes U P. final- Mrs. King beat Mrs. Carruthers. L. medal: Miss G. Ramsay, 71 net. Medal for Mrs. Duncan's trophy: Miss R. Hodgins.
