GOOD BOXING BY O’KEEFE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) I NVERCARGILL. September 24. Pan O’Keefe, unheralded Wellington middleweight, proved a real dark horse in a professional 10-rouud bout with Diek Baker. Armv and Southland champion, here tonight. Baker was oulboxed ami outfought ami in several rounds was just saved by the gong. He took counts of nine live times, mostly from pile-driver rights which connected cleanly to the jaw. Baker's gameness under the severe ■handicap of a closed right eye early in the bout won .him the admiration ot the crowd, who also applauded O’Keefe for a first-class display ot boxing and hard punching. ... > . <>n that showing O’Keefe is clearly m the forefront, of middleweights in New Zcukiiid today. He scaled 11.6 ,and Baker weighed 11 cstone. _____
