FATE OF EVA BRAUN

Paris Paper Claims She Is Alive (Received September 24, 5.25 p.m.) PARIS, September 24. Eva Braun is not dead, according to the Paris newspaper “L’Aurore.” The paper claims that she is held prisoner by the American Army authorities as a surprise witness at the trial of war criminals at Nuremberg. “L’Aurore” declares that two months ago “Madame Hitler” was seen to return to her Munich fiat, accompanied by American officers. She collected clothes and gave instructions to her-servant, who said she appeared very tired. An American officer said: “Braun is not dead. Wo cannot help thinking that the other corpse found at the Chancellory and stated to be Hitler's may be a false one, too, and that he is biding, or is hidden, in a discreet place.” ‘‘L’Aurore” asks: “As they hold his Fife, might not the Americans be hoping to catch this monster in some trap?”
