WEDDING

Stewart—Colquhoun.

An afternoon wedding of considerable local interest was solemnized in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Levin, on Saturday. August 4, when Alison Eflie, only child of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Colquhoun, "Tangimoana,” Ohau, was married to Flight Sergeant James Oliphant, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Stewart. “Heatherlea,” Levin. The Rev. Mr. Finch officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory cloque cut on classic lines, the skirt forming a long train. Her beautiful old honiton lace veil was held by a coronet of orange blossom which had been worn by her mother, and was mixed with real blossoms from the home garden. The bridal bouquet was of white heather, cyclamen, daphne and freesias. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Margaret Blair, Maxwell, aud Miss Josie Law, Levin, who wore similar frocks of ivqry cordrossa. They carried bouquets of red anemones and white heather, and the same Howers were worn in the hair; Flight Lieutenant G. Highet, D.F.C., Wellington, was best man, and the groomsman was Flight Sergeant R. Silcoek, Raglan. The bridegroom, best man and groomsman are all R.N.Z.A.F. pilots of the 25th Fighter Squadron ; at present on furlough .after active service Ip the Pacific. A reception was held at which more than 100 quests were received by Mr. and AJrs. Colquhoun and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart. The bride travelled in a smart blue checked costume, with small blue hat and beige accessories.
