NEW GOVERNMENT FOR GREECE

(Received August 9. 7 p.m.) LONDON, August 9.
A message from Athens states that the Regent. Archbishop Dunmskinos. has asked the Prime .Minister. Admiral A'oulgaris. to form a new Government. "The British Government wishes to assist the Greeks both in restoring their country and choosing their future Government in conditions of freedom and tranquility.'’ said .Mr. Attlee, exchanging cablegrams with Archbishop Damaskinos. He added : "We are concerned at reports of Right-wing excesses in contravention of Hie A’ariska agreement and attach importance to the Voulgaris Government executing Hie measures they adopted to prevent all violations of (he agreement by extremists, either on the Right or the Left.”
