The Premier of the Punjab, I-Iyat Khan, talked with Sir Edward Jenkins, Lord WaveU’s secretary, who is one of the conference secretaries, before the latest session opened. The Congress Party president, Dr. Azad, and nine other members of Congress talked for more than an hour, before going to the conference. Re-' ports on a discussion with Mr. Jinnah, of the Moslem League, were read and decisions were reached on action to lie taken by the Congress at the conference.

During the ’ interval the Congress and Moslem League will try to reach an adjustment ou the exact quota to be allotted the two parties and other interests in the Viceroy.’s Executive’Council. A cable has been received from the Aga Khan, who is at present, in East Africa, addressed to Mr. Gandhi and Dr. Azad urging the Congress to take the lead in a final solution of the political differences in India, including the problem of the Indian States. The Aga Khau asked them to consider a Constitution 'for an Indian Commonwealth of Nations “based on a union of, hearts and interest, not majority and force.”
