in proposing the re-electiou of Mr. Price, Mr. W. L. Fitzherbert said that as chairman he had done the board excellent service, and congratulated him on the way he had handled the business. He had attended to their affairs very efficiently. Other members paid tribute to the chairman’s service, and referred to the strenuous job it had become under war conditions. In the future, with a number of important matters to be negotiated. they said, it would be well for Mr. Price's special experience and knowledge of the board’s affairs to be utilized. In thanking members for their renewed confidence. Mr. Price said that the distinction of a fifth verm for its chairman had only once previously been conferred by the board. He wished to mark the occasion by presenting the board with a silver inkstand, suitably mounted ou tot.ira timber which hud been used in the Queen's Wluirf structure from IS(’>2 to 192-1. The inkstand had come from the steamship Mararoa, in the writing-room of which it had occupied a place from the year 1885. when the ship came out from l-lngland. to 1931.
