Sun Stream is the seventh winner of the One Thousand Guineas in Hie colouts or the Earl of Derby. Sun Stream has a typical Stanley House Stud pedigree, being by Lord Derby's Hyperion (who has now aired bis ninth classic winner) from Drift by Swvnford. Drift was a good JIIIJ at three years, winning the Atalauta Stakes, Hie Breeders’ St. Leger at Dcllij and Hie Caledonian Hunt Cup, of one mile and live furlongs. At stud she produced in turn Fairhaven (now doing well at the stud), Tide-way (One Thousand Guineas). Heliopolis (a good performer now siring winners in America), Off Shore, Seven Seas and Suu Stream. The family goes through Santa Cruz and Santa Briglda to Melton’s sister, Bridget. Manitoba, the lending sire in Australia last season, comes from tlie same I,ranch of the No. 8 family. As a two-vear-old Sun Stream won three races, including the Bodford Stakes and Queen Mary Stakes. At tier last start she was beaten two heads in Hie Cheveley lark Stakes. In which she slipped a stifle muscle.
