NEW YEAR RACE MEETINGS
Six In Two Codes Carded For Today GREAT NORTHERN DERBY ON MONDAY
The round of New Year racing and trotting meetings, the busiest period of the restricted racing year, will open today with race meetings at Tauhereuikau, Marton and Greymouth and trotting meetings at Auckland, Addington and Winton The three racing clubs mentioned will conclude their meetings on Monday.’ In the trotting held the Auckland Club will conclude its cup meeting today and the Canterbury Park Club will hold a further day on Monday yaar , g Day (Monday) the Auckland Racing Club will stage the second day of its cup meeting, the feature items on the programme being the Great Northern Derby and the Racing Club Handicap. Ihere will be one-day meetings also on Monday at Hastings, Waikouaiti and Wyndham, and the Stratford Club will hold its cup meeting on Monday and Tuesday. In all centres the fields are of ample size and should the clubs be fortunate with the weather good meetings should be experienced.
