The Flying Bomb
Sir, —Apparently the idea o£ the “flying bomb” was evolved in Germany in 1934, as the writer possesses a photo taken from the “Sports and General” in that, year depicting Herr Gerhard Zucker, a rocket pioneer, explaining the working of a so-called “letter” conveyer rocket, with its launching rack, which determines the direction and trajectory. The rocket and its apparatus was 17 feeMoiig with a range of about live miles* The container, bomb-shaped, .-is apparently three feet long. The war rack we Observe m present-day photographs is of course a' tremendous size.—l ami etc., 11. F. E. FILDES. Wellington, September 28.
