Trade With Britain
Sir, —Your editorial in this morning’s issue of "The Dominion” is to be highly commended as covering some constructive comment on the reply of the Minister of Finance to a recent deputation interested in reciprocal trade between the United Kingdom and this country. As additional comment nijiv I suggest that from a trading point of view and in the interest of all concerned, it would assist in the regulation of supplies for the post-war requirements of this country if the Government would release information as to the extent stocks under Government control will be available for post-war civilian requirements. To preserve, ns far as possible, a balanced economy in this country, such information is a pre-requisite to plans for post-war trading, anil it is to be hoped the Government will be ingenuous enough to release such information without further loss ?f time, as in doing so it is not likely the information could be of any service to anyone outside this country or prejudice our war effort in any way.—l am. etc., IMPORTER.
