Prophecy Come True
Sir, —The Rev. G. I. Laurenson, one of the speakers in yesterday’s “Christian Order Campaign,” at St. James’ Theatre, stressed the fact that if the principles, of Christianity were neglected something terrible would happen to the community. May I ask, “Hasn’t it already happened?” The late Field-Marshal Earl Haig of Bemersyde, commander of the British Army' during the last war, said: “I am no exemplary Christian and it is not my business to expound Christianity, but, one thing I know, and it is this: If organized society does not soon learn to obey Christ’s law of life, it will go to pieces in a bigger tragedy even than that from whose effects we are now suffering.” A clear realization of this great fact would bring abounding health and strength to thousands now diseased and suffering. It would bring peace trad joy to thousands suffering and ill at ease, and from a material point of view go to lighten the burden on the social security fund. —I am, etc.—A. C. M. SICELY. Marton, September 21.
