(British Official Wtrelessq (Received August 27, 9 p.m.) RUGBY, August 26. The commander-in-chief, Mediterranean, General Maitland Wilson, in a message to General Patch says: "I send you my warmest congratulations on the magnificent successes which have attended the army under your command in southern France. The skiiful manner in which you have directed the operation and the determination and drive shown by your units have already produced outstanding results. The battle is developing to my complete satisfaction and will, I am sure, result in the complete destruction of the German 19th Army. Please send my congratulations to General De Lattre, General Truscott and al! the officers and men under their command.” In a message to Admiral Cunningham, General Wilsftn stated that the remarkable successes of the operation could not have been achieved without skill, hard work and co-operation between the services.
