Progress By Eighth Army LONDON, August 25. British and Indian troops of the Eighth Army continued to press the weakening enemy resistance between the Apennines and Florence, says today s Allied communique from Italy, Italian troops east of the slopes of the Apennines reached the river Candiguano on it broad front, and entered tho town of Acqualagna (eight miles south of Urbino). . Considerable advances were made m the Upper Arno Valley, and the villages of Castlenuovo, Forniclie, and Lamontanina were captured. Eighth Army troops east of Pontassieve made good progress toward the Gothic Line and are firmly established on the western slopes of Monte Secchieta. West of Florence, in the Fifth Army sector, patrol activity continues on both sides of the Arno.
