WENT BACK FOR THE TRIMMINGS
Impudent Burglars WELLINGTON PREMISES TWICE ENTERED Twice within a week the premises of C. Smith, Limited. Cuba Street, M elliugton, have been entered by burglars, the last occasion being at the weekend. Several hundred pounds’ worth of goods have been stolen, including fur coats, suits, furnishings, and soft goods. Au impudent feature of the burglaries is that on the first occasion the workroom was among the departments entered and ransacked, and from it the thieves took a partially-completed quilt. After the entry on Monday night it was found that the burglars had removed the materials and trimmings necessary for the quilts completion, which they had overlooked the first time. Considerable discretion was displayed in the selection of the goods taken. I’or instance, of two brooches displayed ou one dummy, only one apparently appealed to the tastes of the thief., the other being left in its original position.
