MEMORIAL CEMETERY
Planned At El Alamein (Received July 17. 7.10 p.m.) LONDON. July 17. Plans have been completed for the construction of a great memorial cemetery at El Alamein where SOOO members of the British and Don inion forces who fell in lhe desert will be buried, says the Cairo correspondent of "The Times.” The War Graves Commission has already concentrated the bodies in this area and £100.061) has been earmarked for laying out gardens and providing permanent headstones. , . The cemetery is on the west side of Bl Alamein station and slopes down to the sea. It will have an obelisk hewed out of stone ami triumphal arches at each approach. A rest-house and ear park will be provided for the convenience of relatives wishing to visit this historic place after the war.
