(Received June 26. IL3O p.m.) NEW YORK, June 26. The “New York Times” Chicago correspondent learns that the British Ambassador, Lord Halifax, has advised members of the British diplomatic and consular staffs that Chicago is A good place t n avoid during the Republican and Democratic conventions. Lord Haliiax has apparently not issued formal instructions forbidding members of tbe staffs to be near tbe conventions, but in view of previous charges that the Britisn are interfering in American politics he is believed to have suggested that members of the staffs postpone trips to Chicago till after the conventions.
