VISIT TO DOMINION
Australian Minister
The Australian Minister of Trade and Customs, Mr. R. V. Keane, will visit the Dominion shortly to discuss export trade matters and to investigate aspects of New Zealand’s internal economic policy. He hopes also to exchange views with and industrial leaders. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Keane. Elected to the Australian Senate in October, 1937, Mr. Keane is now the Leader of the Government in that House. He was formerly member of the House ot Representatives for Bendigo. Since the formation of the Labour Government, Mr. Keane has administered the Commonwealth Department of Trade and Customs, which controls the Division or Import Procurement set up as a separate section with the department in September. 1941.
