Mr. D. J. Gibbs was re-elected chairman of the council of the Wellington Acclimatization Society at a meeting of the council last night. Mr. H. S. B. Fletcher was re-elected president of the Wellington Beautifying Society at the annual meeting of members last night. The Rev. Jasper Calder has resigned his position ns vicar of the Church of tlie Epiphany, Ponsonby, Auckland, in order Io have more lime available for his work as Auckland City Missiouer. Mr. Calder had been vicar of Epiphany since 1931, lie established the city mission 24 years ago.
